Pete Tong DJ Academy isn’t exactly big on formal introductions. There are no “Hey, how are you” type messages on their homepage, nor is there an About page to learn more about them.

That is somewhat forgivable given that they are relative newcomers to the scene, having originally launched in April 2022.

Their website isn’t awful, but it feels a little tacky, and it could use some work. That said, this is also forgivable given their short lifespan as a business.

The Pete Tong DJ Academy teacher roster includes the likes of Pete Tong, Adam Beyer, Carl Cox, Nicole Moudaber, and Jamie Jones, among others.

Their course kicks off with mindset, set up, and learning to mix before moving into advanced lessons – advanced mix techniques, DJ sets, instructor DJ setups, instructor multi-cam HD DJ sets, and tips on networking and etiquette.

Buying their course will give you access to their Talent Pool, which might help you land some gigs at clubs and on radio shows. There are no guarantees, of course, but it’s nice to know there could be opportunities waiting for you on the other side of studying the art of DJing.

Their pricing is about the middle of the road, all told, but there are certainly more affordable options if you’re not vibing with Pete Tong DJ Academy. From what we’re seeing, though, we think they’re a pretty solid bet.

The UK-based We Are Crossfader – Learn How to DJ Online (or Crossfader for short) offers an array of free online tutorials, gear reviews, DJ news, and courses for beginner, intermediate, and “creative” DJs. They also have a mailing list, which you can join to receive news and updates, free lessons, and their Crossfader Music Pack.

Crossfader was founded by Jamie Hartley in May 2014 in a run-down office. Having fixed up the space, he began teaching one on one lessons, imparting what he had learned through experience. Two years later, Crossfader opted to take its offerings online.
