What Is Coachella?
Coachella is a music festival held in Indio, California, every year. The founders made it to highlight some of the world's biggest artists and some up-and-coming musicians. It runs over two weekends containing 3 days each, and has over 250,000 festival goes every year.
The festival also brings in a lot of revenue, with over $100 million every year.
It started in 1999 as a two-day music festival and has evolved ever since to what it is today. If you love music, want to be an influencer, or just want to enjoy California in April in a unique way, you will love Coachella.

How Does Coachella Work?
Coachella takes place over two weekends in April. Each weekend runs from Friday to Sunday. The musical lineups are the same for both weekends.
However, there usually ends up being a few small differences between the two weekends, like what celebrities attend and any surprise musical performances that take place. Usually, week two goes better in terms of logistics since any problems get worked out during week one.
And a majority of the influencers and celebrities tend to show up for week one since they want the first look at everything. So, if you want a chance to spot them, you should attend week one, but if you want a smoother, less influencer-filled weekend, you should go to week two. And, unless you want to hear the music twice or just experience the festival twice in one year, you do not have to attend both weekends.
Do You Have to Be Famous to Go to Coachella?
You do not have to be famous to go to Coachella, even though many people who do attend the festival are famous.
All you have to do to attend Coachella is buy a pass for one of the weekends. Tickets sell out fast, so you should buy them as soon as you can after they go on sale.
You will see a lot of Tik Tok, Instagram, and other social media influencers at Coachella and people who think they are influencers. But, there are also a lot of actual famous people at the festival other than the performers.
In 2022, some of the celebrities spotted at Coachella included Vanessa Hudgens, Hailey Bieber, and Paris Hilton. They are all there to show off their fashion and enjoy the music just like everyone else.
Who Plays at Coachella?
The music at Coachella covers many genres, including pop, rock, hip hop, and EDM. There are different stages and performance times, so you are likely to find an artist or performance you want to see.
The headliners in 2022 were Billie Eilish, Harry Styles, and Swedish House Mafia. But, there are dozens of performances during the festival, some of which take place at the same time, so you will not even be able to see everyone over the three days.

If you are attending, make sure to download the Coachella app, which will have all the games, activities, and musical lineups so you can make sure to do all the activities you want to do.

Why Is It Called Coachella?
The name of the music festival got its name from the name of the valley where the festival takes place. It is in Coachella Valley in California.
The festival is officially called the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, but most people refer to it as Coachella for short.
What to Wear to Coachella?
Fashion is a huge part of what makes Coachella popular, especially on social media. The looks that celebrities and influencers wear to the festival are buzzing news.
Sure, you probably want to wear the cutest things to the festival to make you stand out and look good on social media. But, the most important thing is to wear something comfortable. You will be doing a lot of walking and standing over the three days.
You should also bring something that can keep you cool but protected from the sun during the day. But, you should also bring a jacket or something else to keep you warm when the sun goes down, as it gets cool at the festival.
When choosing your outfits, you can wear anything you want. But, most people go with a look perfect for hot weather, so it shows a lot of skin while also being chic. You can find outfit inspo on social media like Instagram and Pinterest.

Is There an Age Limit at Coachella?
There is no age limit to attend Coachella. However, it is a multi-day festival so you will have to stay overnight. There are multiple camping options available at Coachella, including car camping, tent camping, lodges, and furnished yurts and tents.
All these options are on-site at the festival and require guests to be 18 and older or with a legal parent or guardian.
There are also hotels nearby, but they also require a check-in age of 18 or 21, depending on the hotel. You will have to check with the individual hotel for their rules.
You also need to remember that Coachella has alcohol at the festival. You must be 21 or older to buy and consume alcohol at the festival.
Where Do You Sleep at Coachella?
Coachella is a three-day festival, so you will want to stay overnight for the full experience. And the closer you are staying to the festival, the easier it will be to get to and from your accommodations every morning and night.
First, Coachella has a lot of camping options. Car camping is the most popular option, which allows you to park your car in a lot for the weekend, and you can sleep in, near, or on it. The camping area is full of people who want to have fun like you, allowing you to set up your overnight accommodations how you please.
If you want to hear about the experience in the car camping lot, check out this Youtube video from Sarah Baska:
You can opt for tent camping if you do not have a car. You can pitch your tent in the field of grass. Tent camping is a good option if you are traveling to the festival in a way other than by car or if you want a more environmentally friendly option.
The festival organizers also set up options to book accommodations from them that are more comfortable than staying in a car or tent.
Lake Eldorado has tents and lodges nearby if you want a nice, peaceful place to stay. The other option they offer is the Safari Campground. The safari area is also secluded, and you can stay in a furnished tent or yurt, which are the nicest accommodation options.
Finally, you can stay somewhere offsite of the festival grounds. There are plenty of hotels and other camping options in the area that you can check out.
