Burna Boy's career has changed dramatically in the last few years. He went from being a singer for Nigeria to becoming an international icon, as evidenced by his nomination for the Grammy Awards at the 62nd Anniversary Grammy.

Ogulu spent most of his early years in Southern Nigeria, where he lived with his mother, Bose Ogulu. Bose Ogulu later became Ogulu's manager.

After learning how to create beats with Fruity Loops, Burna Boy released two mixtapes: Burn Notice and Burn Identity. He then signed to Aristokrat Records and released Like To Party in 2012 under this label.
